WHAT DOES YOUR WORLD

SOUND LIKE?

Can you hear the dawn chorus, the wind, the waves, birds cries, little creatures on the ground, machines cutting through the earth, dogs barking, the house creaking, the distant murmur of traffic?

What does Portland sound like? What sounds are familiar to you?

INTERACTIVE SOUND MAP

Can any one tell us what Golden Plovers, Redwings, Lapwings, Snipe, Goosander, Velvet Scoter, Red-throated Divers, Merlin, Black Redstart, Rosy Starling and Black Brant sound like? They were all seen on the island yesterday. Can anyone remember the sound of the Quarry Bells, the tapping of tools on stone when quarrying was done by hand?
